1. Find the two settings
In your Nitrado server settings, look for Server Time Multiplier and Server Time Multiplier (Night). They match serverTimeAcceleration and serverNightTimeAcceleration in the server config.
- Server Time Multiplier: how much faster than real time the in-game clock runs. At 2, a full in-game day passes in 12 real hours
- Night multiplier: speeds up the night on top of that. At 4 with a main value of 2, nights run 8 times faster than real time
2. Decide on the feel
Shorter nights keep players online. Longer nights make torches, flares and night vision worth carrying. Also think about your restart times: if a restart lands at the same point in the night every time, players may never see a dawn.
DayZ follows the in-game date, so summer days are longer than winter ones on the same settings.
3. Work out the values and apply them
The free Blxckforge Day and Night Calculator shows how long days and nights last for any two values, or works the values out from the real minutes you want. Copy them into Nitrado, save and restart the server.
