Server Messages

Edit welcome messages, reminders and restart countdowns and see when each one shows. Pro loads and saves straight to your server.

messages.xmlSchedulePro: save to Nitrado
PC, PlayStation and Xbox

What it works with

`messages.xml` lives in your mission's db folder and controls the messages players see in chat: welcome lines when they join, timed reminders, and the countdown before a restart.

What Server Messages does

  • Edit every message as a card: on join, repeating, once, or a restart countdown with #tmin
  • See a schedule of when each message shows across a restart cycle, and an in-game chat preview
  • Catch mistakes such as a shutdown with no deadline or a message with no text
  • On the Server and Pro plans: load messages.xml from your Nitrado server and save it back, with a diff, a confirmation and an automatic backup

Who it's for

Server owners who want players to see their Discord, rules and restart times without hand-editing XML.

Getting started

Open a file or start from a template in your browser and download the result, free and no account needed. Loading from and saving to your Nitrado server is part of the Server and Pro plans.

Common questions

When do my changes show in game?

After the server next restarts. DayZ reads messages.xml when it starts.

What's free and what's Pro?

Opening, editing, checking and downloading files is free. Loading straight from your Nitrado server and saving back to it, with automatic backups, is part of the Server and Pro plans.

Can I undo a save?

Yes. Every save backs up the previous file. Open Backups, load one, then save it again.

Does editing a file from my computer upload it?

No. Local files stay in your browser until you choose to download them.
