Gameplay
Stamina, the map, raid-proof bases, building rules, night glow, hit indicators and temperatures, with live previews. Pro saves cfggameplay.json straight to your server.
What it works with
`cfggameplay.json` sits in your mission folder and changes how DayZ plays: stamina and carry weight, whether players see themselves on the map, whether bases can be raided, where building is allowed, the glow around players at night, the hit indicator and temperatures through the year. DayZ only reads it when `enableCfgGameplayFile` is on.
What Gameplay does
- Start from a style (Vanilla, Casual, PvE or Hardcore) and fine-tune with live previews
- See the map as players will: your position marker, the paper map, compass and GPS readouts
- Compare sprinting against vanilla, and set stamina and carry weight with sliders
- Make bases raid-proof, and switch building checks off one by one or with Strict, Relaxed and Anything goes
- Pick the hit indicator style and colour on a screen preview, and set every month's temperatures on a chart
- Starter kits, object spawners and modded settings in the file are kept exactly as they are
- On the Server and Pro plans: load cfggameplay.json from your Nitrado server and save it back with a diff, confirmation and automatic backup
Who it's for
Server owners who want a casual, PvE or hardcore feel without hand-editing JSON.
Getting started
Open your file or start from DayZ's default in your browser and download the result, free and no account needed. Loading from and saving to your Nitrado server is part of the Server and Pro plans.
Common questions
My changes don't do anything.
Check enableCfgGameplayFile is on in your server settings, then restart.
Will this break my starter kits?
No. Starter kits, object spawners and any setting the editor doesn't show are written back exactly as they were.
